In this session we will begin with a brief introduction of the history of SQL Server and the new features in SQL 2014. The presentation will then dive into details on in-memory such as its structure and implementation. We will then configure the database to support in-memory and look at how to create and populate in-memory tables. From a code perspective we explore how to query and work with in-memory data including existing and natively compiled stored procedures. A performance comparison will be made so that the benefits are apparent. There will be coverage on limitations and caveats and we will finish off with potential practical applications of this technology.
